JUST IN: Top 10 quarterback recruits in the final 2025 On300 rankings join Texas Longhorns football boosting major commitment…

In a significant boost to their 2025 recruiting class, the Texas Longhorns have secured commitments from several top-tier prospects, as highlighted in the latest On3 2025 On300 rankings. Notably, while the Longhorns’ class is rich with talent, it does not currently include a quarterback among these top commits.

Leading the class is Lance Jackson, an EDGE rusher from Texarkana (Texas) Pleasant Grove, who has earned five-star status and is ranked as the No. 8 overall prospect nationally. Another standout is Jonah Williams, a safety from Galveston (Texas) Ball, also a five-star recruit, ranked No. 15 overall. These additions underscore Texas’ commitment to strengthening its defense with elite talent.

The Longhorns’ recruiting efforts have propelled them to the No. 3 spot nationally and No. 2 in the SEC for the 2025 class, trailing only Ohio State and Georgia.

While the current class lacks a top-ranked quarterback, the Longhorns’ future at the position remains promising. Arch Manning, a member of the renowned Manning family, is set to take over as Texas’ starting quarterback in the upcoming season. Manning, who has recently signed a significant Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal with Red Bull, brings high expectations and considerable talent to the role.

As the Longhorns continue to build their roster with elite recruits, the absence of a top quarterback in the 2025 class highlights the importance of strategic planning and development at the position. The coaching staff’s ability to attract and develop talent will be crucial as Texas aims to compete at the highest levels of college football in the coming years.
