JUST IN: Kirby Smart Addresses Arrests of Nitro Tuggle & Marques Easley, Stresses Continued Education on Driving Safety…

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart has expressed his disappointment following the recent driving-related arrests of freshmen Nitro Tuggle and Marques Easley. Speaking to the media, Smart emphasized the importance of proper decision-making and the ongoing efforts the program has undertaken to educate players on responsible driving.
“Yeah, disappointed, obviously, in those two young men and the decision-making process for each one,” Smart said. “Both of them are younger players and have made crucial mistakes.”
Smart detailed the extensive measures Georgia’s football program has in place to educate players about responsible driving, including defensive driving courses, professional driver training, and regular meetings with athletic director Josh Brooks. Despite these efforts, incidents like these continue to be a challenge.
“It’s amazing how many kids come to school without a driver’s license,” Smart noted, adding that one of the players involved had obtained his license just a month before the incident. “It’s no excuse, but one of those things we will continue to educate and discipline our guys to try to correct.”
While the details of potential team discipline remain unclear, Smart reiterated the program’s commitment to reinforcing responsible driving habits and ensuring that players learn from these mistakes.
